The Location
Belle Plagne: Beautiful character resort with traditional architecture at 2,050m high.
With 225km of pistes from 1250m – 3250m in La Plagne alone, you are sure to find great terrain for all levels and for all conditions. From the glacier at over 3000m down through the trees to Montchavin, Montalbert or Champagny, the landscape changes constantly.
Belle Plagne is one of La Plagne’s highest villages, at 2050m. Built in a traditional Savoyard style architecture, you will find everything you need on site - shops, restaurants, bars, lift pass office and ski school. There is also a wellness centre, a swimming pool (summer only) and a bowling alley. Furthermore, in nearby Bellecôte (5 min gondola ride, open until midnight) there is an ice rink amongst other attractions. Belle Plagne has a lot of character, and is one of the world’s top ski destinations. As it is set at such a high altitude, it is ski-in ski-out and pistes are for the most part snow-sure. Belle Plagne is also home to the ‘Big Air Bag’, a giant-sized cushion for skiers and boarders to practice their jumps without any risk. For families, Belle-Plagne is known to have an excellent nursery facility so that your children can be looked after if they are too young to ski. After skiing, you can enjoy an evening out in the Saloon nightclub or one of the popular bars such as the Tête Inn or the Maitre Kanter.
Using the new cable car, the Vanoise Express, skiers from La Plagne and Les Arcs can travel from one ski resort to the other in just 4 minutes. The Paradiski area totals 425km of downhill pistes, 153km of cross-country trails and 2 snowparks to ensure that you will never lack inspiration for your day on the slopes, no matter how often you go.
